Department of Reproduction Management

We investigate reproductive strategies and the emergence of human-induced reproductive disorders in free-living and captive animals. We apply, together with methods of evolutionary morphology and comparative anatomy, modern imaging techniques such as ultrasonography, endoscopy and computer tomography. Building upon this basic research, we develop new techniques for assisted reproduction such as gamete collection (intra vitam) and storage, artificial insemination, and contraception programmes, and apply them to optimise the reproductive management of endangered species.
