Registration includes warm-up party, symposium package, access to all scientific sessions, abstract volume, coffee/tea breaks.

Language

The conference will be conducted in English, thus all presentations and abstracts should be in English.

Oral presentations

Oral presentations will consist of a 10 minute talk followed by a 5 minute discussion. Please indicate to which session you would like to contribute.

Poster presentations

Posters will be displayed during the whole conference.

Prepare posters in portrait format. Posters will be fixed on poster boards and should not exeed 84 cm (width) x 130 cm (height).

 

Prizes for best student oral and poster presentation

The best student oral and poster presentation will be awarded the most recent "Ecological and Behavioral Methods for the Study of Bats" edited by  T.H. Kunz and S. Parsons (to be published in spring 2009; price ca. 65 US$). The second best student oral and poster presentation will be awarded "Bat Biology and Conservation" edited by T.H. Kunz and P.A. Racey (price ca. 60 US$). We thank Prof. Dr. Kunz (Center for Ecology and Conservaton Biology, Boston University, USA) for the donation.

 

Special Feature on Bat Migration in Journal of Mammalogy

Journal of Mammalogy is willing to publish a special feature on bat migration in case participants to our symposium would be willing to write contributions. These papers could either review our existent knowledge on certain aspects of bat migration or present novel data. Please contact Dr. Christian C. Voigt in case you are interested in this special feature. All manuscripts must be submitted in the correct JM format to batmigration09@izw-berlin.de before the start of the symposium (deadline 15th of January 2009). All contributions will undergo an internal review process before submission to Journal of Mammalogy.
