On behalf of the Leibniz Institute for Zoo and Wildlife Research (IZW) in Berlin we wish to extend a cordial invitation to you to participate in the "1st PhD student symposium in Wildlife Research",

between 11th and 12th September 2008 here in Berlin, Germany.

This symposium aims to bring together PhD students from different disciplines in the field of wildlife research (biologists and veterinarians) with interest in both wild and captive animals in an informal meeting. It is initiated by the PhD students of the IZW, and will provide the opportunity to discuss and present your research in a less official but highly motivated mainly student audience. Get the chance to exchange yourself with colleagues and external experts about current research topics.

We are very pleased to announce the attendance of four external specialists from the field of conservation biology in our symposium:

>> Professor Michael W. Bruford, School of Biosciences, Cardiff University
>> download abstract!

>> Professor Herbert H. T. Prins, Resource Ecology, Wageningen University
