Short curriculum vitae
Currently, I am pursuing a PhD in Evolutionary Biology at the University of Potsdam and conducting my research at the Leibniz Institute for Zoo and Wildlife Research (IZW) in Berlin. I hold a BSc degree in Biology and an MSc degree in Experimental Biology obtained at the University of Zagreb, Croatia. In my research, I study the evolution of gene families in the genomes of carnivoran mammals (mustelids, felids, canids and their allies), with an emphasis on the structural variation in highly variable immune gene families.
Prior to beginning of my PhD research, I gained experience in molecular analysis and laboratory methods during my studies and while volunteering in another department of the IZW (Dept. of Wildlife Diseases).Adaptive genetic variation in mustelid species
