New leader of the Research Group Wildlife Diseases starts his research work at the Leibniz Institute for Zoo and Wildlife Research (IZW)

 

Prof. Alex Greenwood took over the leadership of the Research Group „Wildlife Diseases“ at the IZW. The position is a collaboration with the Freie Universität Berlin where he will be an Associate Professor for Wildlife Diseases in the Facluty for Veterinary Medicine.

Alex Greenwood has been an Assistant Professor of Biological Sciences at Old Dominion University in Norfolk, Virginia since 2006. Mr. Greenwood is an expert in virology, retrovirology and ancient DNA focusing on wildlife.

His previous experience includes postdoctoral research at the Zoological Institute of the University of Munich, the American Museum of Natural History in New York and the Institute for Molecular Virology of the Helmholtz Center in Munich.
