Research & teaching

With our mission “evolutionary wildlife research for conservation”, we work towards the vision of understanding and improving the adaptability of wildlife in the context of global change. In order to achieve both goals, the Leibniz-IZW implements a comprehensive research and work programme which coordinates and inspires the work of our six scientific departments in all three Programme Areas. Our lectures & courses, scientific events, and cooperation & networks strategy align directly with our mission. Our work is conducted within the framework of good scientific practice and, where necessary, with comprehensive guidelines for animal studies.
