Short curriculum vitae

Dr. Guilherme Neumann is a junior research group leader in bioinformatics applied to wildlife diseases. He obtained his PhD in Genetics from Humboldt University of Berlin (Germany) in 2023, and holds a Master’s degree in Computer Science and a Bachelor’s degree in Biology both from the Pontifical Catholic University of Rio de Janeiro (Brazil). His research focuses on the application of next-generation sequencing to questions in conservation and population genetics, evolutionary genomics, and wildlife disease dynamics, with the aim of improving the conservation of endangered species. His work is inherently interdisciplinary, integrating bioinformatics, genetics, virology, microbiology, ecology, and evolutionary biology within the broader framework of One Health.
