Short curriculum vitae

After studying veterinary medicine at Szent Istvan University Budapest and FU Berlin, Marc Gölkel worked in mixed practice and as fish veterinarian in Berlin.

He joined the Leibniz-IZW in 2016 as veterinarian and has since been involved in evidence-based research regarding clinical management, husbandry and welfare of zoo animals and wildlife, with special emphasis on big cats and bears. Furthermore, he regularly supports zoos and other wildlife institutions within Germany and Europe regarding anesthesia, diagnostics and management of their clinical cases.
