Kurzer Lebenslauf

Gudrun Wibbelt is a veterinary wildlife pathologist at the Leibniz Institute for Zoo and Wildlife Research (IZW). After graduating at the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, Hanover University, she became a resident for veterinary pathology at Liverpool University, UK. In 2002 she moved to Berlin and began to work at the IZW and since she is involved with pathological investigations on captive and free-ranging wildlife. She is also responsible for the electron microscopy unit of the IZW. Her research interests include wildlife infectious diseases particularly concerning small mammals like bats or squirrels but also carnivore species. In 2014 she was accepted by the European Board of Veterinary Surgeons as a Diplomat of the European College of Zoological Medicine, Wildlife Population Health speciality.
